The Yowza Biscayne features high quality in a compact design. It is the slimmest of the folding treadmills available on the market. When it is folded, the width is slightly less than 2 feet.
There is a commercial grade motor on this treadmill which means it can handle consistent and rigorous use. The console is one that is easy to use and ergonomic in design. It is possible to change incline and speed, as well as to select a program, with just one touch. Among the other features are an iPod dock with hi-fidelity speakers, a water bottle holder and a Polar wireless heart rate receiver.
A number of pre-set workouts are included. There are 15 programs which include ones for speed, heart rate, fitness and weight loss. The speed can be set from between. 5 and 10 mph. The incline varies from 0% up to 12%. The computer is able to hold the profiles for up to nine different users so that weight, age and level of fitness do not need to be entered each time.
The treadmill features a floating deck which will provide you with a soft landing surface for preventing injuries. It can be reversed and no regular maintenance is required. The running belt measures 20″ by 60″ so there is no worry that you won’t have room to run. The user maximum weight is 350 lbs.
This is a well made treadmill, built to run quietly and with a strong welded steel frame. There is an extensive warranty on the machine. It includes two years on in-home labor, five years on parts and electronics and a lifetime warranty on the motor and frame.
Although the treadmill is folding and slim, it is also heavy. You can opt for inside delivery for an extra fee that is probably worth it. It can generally be assembled in under an hour even without experience.
The Yowza Biscayne is a high quality treadmill, however, you are paying extra for the slim design of the machine. If you live in an apartment or have other reasons to need to save space, it may be worth the extra cost. If you do not, you might consider some of the company’s other models.
