Brief Introduction about Production Equipment and Process for Submarine Power Cable

Post time: Jul-10-2023   View: 2

The submarine power cables go through rivers, lakes and ocean, and is applied to exploit crudeoil, natural gas and transmit electricity. The cable shall adapt different seabed environments and various situations of different seabed areas, and meet the requirements of ocean physical features and submarine laying. The submarine power cable also possesses the advantages of waterproof, corrosion-proof, large length, good mechanical performance, etc.
The submarine power cable can be divided into the following types according to the insulation type: oil-filled paper insulated submarine power cable, XLPE insulated submarine power cable and EPR insulated submarine power cable. Compared with the oil-filled paper insulation, XLPE insulated submarine power cable and EPR insulated submarine power cable possess more outstanding electrical and mechanical performance (details as the under form).
The advantages are as follows:
a.The waste and the capacitance current of the XLPE and EPR insulated submarine cable are less, and the transmit capacity and short-circuit ability are better than those of the oil-filled paper insulation.
b.Because the insulations of the XLPE and EPR insulated submarine power cable are solid, there's no need to maintain them like oil-filled paper insulated submarine power cable, or control and inspect them like oil level and oil-pressure.
c.The weight of the XLPE and EPR insulated submarine power cable can be used without lead sheathing, and such construction is light weight, can be produced in large lengths, and is easy to transport and lay.
Our company is equipped with international advanced submarine cable special production line, possesses a special marine terminal, and establish an effective quality assurance system based on IS09001. Cable performance can be tested in accordance with the international standards as customer demands, foreign standards and national standard. Test equipment can meet all the requirements of routine tests, sample tests and type tests specified by products.
