Irradiated cross-linked wires throughout Europe, America and Japan are environmentally friendly, safe, long-lasting, have special heat resistance, chemical resistance, radiation resistance in home furnishings in Europe and America and other countries is already essential.

Irradiated cross-linked wires

Irradiation cross-linked wire is the use of irradiation cross-linking process to produce wire, irradiation cross-linking is the use of electron accelerator generated by high-energy electron beam bombardment of the insulation layer, the molecular chain will be broken to form polymer radicals, and then polymer radicals recombine into cross-linked bonds, so that the original linear molecular structure into a three-dimensional network of molecular structure and the formation of cross-linking.

Irradiated cross-linked wires are also used in this physical method to develop and produce a new type of wire for home construction, making the wire environmentally friendly, safe and long-lasting. The product occupies a large proportion of the building market in Western countries and is one of the most desirable building wires internationally.

Characteristic of irradiated cross-linked wire

It can withstand temperatures up to 300°C instantly and can work normally at 125°C. Use a soldering iron to burn the insulation layer should not be obvious dents, if there are large dents then the insulation layer using materials or process defects. Or use a lighter to grill, under normal circumstances should not be easy to ignite, after a long time burning irradiation cross-linked low smoke halogen-free flame retardant cable insulation layer is still relatively intact, no smoke and irritating smell, while the diameter increases. If it is easy to ignite, it can be determined that the insulation of the cable is not made of low smoke and halogen-free material. If there is a large amount of smoke, the insulation is made of halogen-containing materials. If the insulation surface is heavily peeled off after prolonged combustion and there is no significant increase in diameter, then the cable has not been treated with a suitable irradiation cross-linking process.

Soak in hot water to see the change in insulation resistance. When the core or cable is immersed in hot water at 90 degrees, the insulation resistance does not drop rapidly and remains above 0.1 megohm/Km under normal conditions. If the insulation resistance drops rapidly or even below 0.009 megohm/Km, it means that it has not undergone a suitable irradiation cross-linking process and is not an irradiated cross-linked low smoke halogen-free flame retardant cable. Polyethylene or cross-linked polyethylene insulation materials are not identified by this method.

Comparison of density. Irradiated cross-linked low smoke halogen-free flame retardant cable material density than water, you can peel off a little insulation layer into the water, if the floating above the water surface, then definitely not low smoke halogen-free material.

Features of irradiated cross-linked wire
(1) Excellent mechanical and physical properties, good resistance to environmental stress cracking, excellent abrasion resistance, better able to withstand concentrated mechanical stress than PVC and PE.
(2) Resistant to various chemical solvents and more stable in various corrosive media around.
(3) Irradiated cross-linked polyolefin insulated wire has a smaller outer diameter than full PVC insulated wire of the same cross-section, which can reduce the diameter of the pipe used in the construction, or wear more wire in the same pipe diameter conditions, reducing the cost of construction and installation.
(4) Irradiated cross-linked polyolefin insulated wire products are much lighter than PVC insulated wire products, making them easier to install and transport, reducing labour intensity and transport costs.
(5) The maximum rated temperature of irradiated cross-linked insulated wires can reach 125℃ when working for a long time, and the load capacity is greater than that of PVC insulated wires.
(6) when burning does not release corrosive gases and toxic gases, will not produce secondary hazards, in line with modern fire safety requirements is a new type of environmentally friendly products.
(7) good electrical performance, insulation resistance and PVC wire (cable) compared to much higher, and dielectric loss angle tangent value tanδ is very small, basically does not change with the change in temperature.
