Multiwire Drawing Machine

Multiwire drawing machine adopts horizontal drawing wheel arrangement, powerful spray cooling and online continuous annealing to drawing many homogenous electrical performance copper wires at the same time. This machine has a large take up capacity can collect multiple wires at the same time, which makes the subsequent process more convenient and improves production efficiency.

Introduction  

Generally speaking, the production of conductors is the first step during the manufacture of wires and cables. The quality of the conductors directly relates to the performance of the entire cable product. And the production efficience also relates to the production cost of the cable product. The traditional conductor processing is carried out by a single-wire tower-wheel drawing machine. The thick copper / aluminum wire is drawn and annealed by the drawing machine to achieve the required diameter. But in the new processing process, more multiwire drawing machines are used.

The multiwire drawing machine provided by LINT TOP is an innovation based on traditional one. It can draw multiple copper wires of the same diameter simultaneously, and can achieve online annealing after drawing to obtain multiple copper wires with the same electrical properties.

Compared with the traditional single head drawing machine, our multiwire drawing machine has some certain superiorities:

1) Improving the product quality, especially when next step is stranding. It guarantees the consistance of the state of each single wires as well as impoves conductivity and softness the stranding wires.

2 )Improving production efficiency. Drawing multiple wires simutaneously is equivalent to many single-head drawing machines work together, which is many times more efficient than the traditional one.

3) Saving costs. One multiwire drawing machine can replace several single-head drawing machines, which can save the input cost of equipment, and during the production process, it can also reduce the labor costs.

Equipment Features

2.1 The drawing machine adopts high precision helical gear transmission and is equipped with spray-type strong oil cooling and lubrication. The lubrication is provided by an independent motor-driven gear pump, with pressure protection and can achieve lubrication failure shutdown.

2.2 The cooling box of the drawing machine adopts strong spray type lubrication cooling, which can fully cool and lubricate the drawing wheel, dies and wires, so as to ensure good drawing quality.

2.3 Online annealing of copper wire can be carried out to realize "continuous drawing and continuous annealing", which can ensure the stability and consistency of the wires.

Main Components of the Equipment

The equipment is mainly composed of pay-off device, drawing machine, annealing device, tension controller, take-up and traverser, and electronic control system.

4.1 Pay off

Pay off

The pay-off of the multiwire drawing machine is a rack type in which the number of pay-off can be matched according to the number of wires. The pay-off speed can reach up to 250m/min, which can meet the pay-off requirements of multiwire drawing machine at high speed.

4.2 Drawing machine

The drawing machine controls 8 wires as a basic unit, 16 wires as a double-layer arrangement, or control 7 wires as a basic unit, 14 wires as a double-layer arrangement. The drawing dies are designed in a tandem horizontal arrangement. The mechanical transmission adopts gear transmission and dual electric drives (the main motor and the fixed speed motor are driven separately). This can realize quick change of dies and greatly reduce the auxiliary time during changing.

The base of the drawing machine is a welded structure, which is processed and formed after annealing and eliminating the internal stress with higher stability and strength. The gear box body is divided into two sections, and processed and fromed after annealing and eliminating the internal stress. It uses high-precision helical gear transmission and is equipped with spray-type strong oil cooling and lubrication. With pressure protection, it can realize lubrication failure shutdown, and is equipped with lubrication cooling and filtering device. The cooling box adopts strong spray type lubrication cooling, which can fully cool and lubricate the drawing wheels, dies and wires, so as to ensure better drawing quality. The spray is pumped out by motor pressure, sprayed with the eye mold base horizontal spray drawing wheel. The eye mold base is designed with oblique holes to align the center of the dies, which can effectively clean dies’ center and reduce the loss. The box cover adopts flip structure, which is easy to operate.

4.3 Annealing machine

Our annealing machine adopts the contact short-circuit annealing and has novel structure design. You can choose two-stage annealing or three-stage annealing according to the requirement of wire diameter. The body adopts horizontal welding structure with recovery tank for coolant at the bottom. The conductive wheel set uses the combined structure with copper wheel body and nickel spraying conductive roller. The carbon brush and conductive wheel are concentrated cooled by using powerful fan. Each conductive wheel is driven by a flat belt, and the power is provided by the fixed-speed wheel motor. The annealing power supply is direct current, which is suitable for simultaneous annealing of several copper wires.

The annealing machine is composed of conductive system, oxidation protection system, cooling system, drying system and electrical system. The oxidation protection uses steam protection; the cooling and lubrication uses dilute concentration drawing liquid circulation; the drying system uses compressed air and die drying. It can ensure the appearance of the copper wire is bright and no oxidation, and can also meet the performance requirements of the elongation and resistivity of the copper wire after annealing.

Auxiliary Equipment

In addition to the above-mentioned pay-off device, drawing machine, annealing device, tension controller, take-up and traverser, and electronic control system, some auxiliary equipment such as drawing dies, copper emulsion filters, pointing machines and cold welders are also needed during the drawing process.
